Importing data

STEP 2

Automation process

Working with the system is possible by first loading the relevant data, after which it will be automatically geocoded in the next step. If you plan to load cyclical data e.g. once a day, the data import process can be automated. In the import module, you can set automatic uploads of data from an SFTP account or from a mailbox.

Preparing the data import

The system allows you to load the following data:

  1. 1. Clients
  2. Customer data import

These are the points of sale you are reaching or are trying to reach. The following information is required:

    • ID – a unique customer identification number
    • Name
    • Address provided with separated fields for the city, postal code, street name and number
    • Business attributes like the network, category or divisions of sales
    • Employee ID – an optional field for assigning the employee to a client.

  3. 2. Employees
  4. Employee data import

This data is optional. Employee data can be loaded using the import module or can be manually added at a later stage when building an organization’s hierarchy. It is important to load sales representatives data, but if you plan to build your entire organization’s hierarchy in the system, loading the regional manager data will ease your work later on. The employee file should contain the following fields:

    • ID – a unique customer identification number
    • Employee name or code
    • An address divided into separate fields for the town, postal code, street name and number
    • Employee’s position.
